Tech-Res celebrates 21 years
The world has changed a great deal since Tech-Res started in 1995, when the web was brand-spanking new, neither Google nor Facebook existed and mobile phones were used for little more than talking!
It was then that Tech-Res embarked on their mission to “restore our clients’ faith in professional tech recruitment”, by providing a more consultative and niche service than was available from other recruiters. They began trading as part of The Specialist Recruitment Group Plc, before incorporating in their own right in ‘97, and becoming completely independent from 2005. They have since worked with an impressive and diverse range of clients, recruiting Contractors, Consultants and Permanent staff for some of the most impressive and innovative projects globally.
Their MD, Derek Brown, puts their success down to hiring only the very best Tech Recruiters and giving them all the tools and support they need to succeed. “Unlike many other recruitment companies, we don’t employ brash or pushy sales people; instead we hire bright, industry focused recruitment pros, who ask intelligent questions, to build open and trusting relationships and truly understand our clients’ needs.”
Since starting out, they have kept their HQ on the prestigious Surrey Research Park in Guildford, which is just 35 mins to London; whilst avoiding the traffic and parking problems of Guildford town centre. Of course, they have grown into larger offices over the years (“we needed room for the table tennis table!”), but have purposefully remained lean and efficient. This is obviously a recipe for success, as they’ve survived a major global recession, the dot.com crash and many other ‘challenges’ over the past 21 years – all without having to make any redundancies.
With increasing demand for tech talent across London and the Home Counties, they are again looking to grow their internal team of recruitment professionals so would love to hear from Senior IT Consultants / Managers, with the expertise and credibility to take over several well established accounts and grow a small existing team. This would suit an entrepreneurially minded recruitment pro who is looking to build a business within a business, with a high degree of autonomy and with a highly regarded brand behind them.
The future holds nothing but promise for this boutique consultancy. It’s already been 21 great years – here’s to 21 more!
