This is a really exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, well-funded, early-stage software company who are revolutionising the way companies across an entire global industry engage digitally with their consumers. They already have an impressive portfolio of clients in the UK, US and Asia and have recently secured considerable investment to continue their expansion.

Their internal dev team in Guildford concentrate on the core platform, a complex modular solution with REST APIs, with the mobile apps being developed mostly by an offshore partner. They’re now looking for a highly skilled Software Developer, at the top of their game, but who is also able to understand the overall solution architecture and how their enterprise clients integrate their platform into their global business processes and operations.

We’re looking for a Senior Developer / Architect with experience across a breadth of technologies and programming languages and with a solid understanding of the underlying programming principles, rather than a specialist in just one or two particular languages. Their back-end core is built in Python, with Django REST framework, so you should either have experience of this or the ability to effectively transition to this, as it’s more important for them to find the right person, rather than simply the right tech-stack. If you don’t have Python experience you should be confident programming in Java, C++, PHP, Ruby etc with API and Linux experience.

They use AWS for hosting their ELB, RDS and S3 services and Ubuntu Linux and Salt Cloud to manage instances, along with RabbitMQ and Celery. They have a web portal in Angular JS and use Github, Slack, Docker and Jenkins to manage code and deployment. For data analysis (an area they’re increasingly focusing on) they use Python / Jupyter, R, Tensor Flow and Spark> Their development team are now spending increasing time and effort looking at how best to apply AI, machine learning and neural networks to their solutions.

As you would expect from an accelerating software company, Agile Scrum experience would be useful as would practical experience of DevOps and CI/CD methodologies and tools.
