You’ll be working with one of the Global Engineering Consultancies who are delivering a major Technology Transition Programme with a rollout to over 300 clients nationwide.
The Senior Cost Engineer will be responsible for the consistent implementation and execution of the Cost Control process on a large and complex project. Key responsibilities will include;

• Providing Cost forecasts, cost reporting and appropriate controls.
• Costs monitoring and reporting in relevant systems with early warning of any cost pressures, or issues that might lead to shifts in milestone dates
• Preparation of cost estimates,
• Working with the Project Accountant to deliver monthly invoicing & annual and quarterly financial reports
• Providing cost analysis and reporting on variances, changes, monthly charges, target and completion costs

Essential requirements:

• At least 5 years’ experience working on cost control on major complex projects
• In depth knowledge of industry standard project cost control methods and tools
• Strong communications (verbal and written) and effective interpersonal skills, with a consultative and supportive manner and the confidence to deal with people at all levels
• Good client facing skills with the confidence to deal with people at all levels
• Proactive, able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a wider team
• Working knowledge of accounting principles
• Knowledgeable in estimating and cost modelling techniques
• Ideally ACostE accredited
• Good understanding of change management processes.
• Degree qualified or equivalent project/industry experience
• The ability to obtain security clearance equivalent to SC level, including having been a UK resident for the past 3 years

Desirable requirements
Experience of working on IT / Technology programmes
Good understanding of PM Methodologies – Prince 2, PMI, APM
