Position: Junior / Graduate Software Developer

Our client has doubled in size over the past few years and are continuing to grow, hence them now looking for a junior or graduate software developer. You will be joining a dynamic, highly professional team who are extremely friendly and supportive, operating in an agile environment, with sprints, scrums and daily stand ups. They are committed to their Software Engineers’ continued development, to ensure you keep abreast of the latest emerging technologies, and you will be assigned a personal mentor to optimise your professional development.
You will be working on Object-Oriented programming, relational database design and SQL Servers, in an agile scrum environment. You will incorporate taking part in code reviews, whilst also helping to maintain and support existing solutions and creating unit tests for the various product modules.
You will be working on both the Front and Back end of their applications, mostly using Python, although to ensure they recruit the very best Software Engineers possible, they’re also quite happy to consider Developers with experience of other high-level scripting languages (PHP, JavaScript, Ruby, Perl, Java etc) with the aptitude, and knowledge of the underlying software principles, to cross-train to Python. The rest of their tech stack includes HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, MySQL, SQL Server and WebServices / RESTful services.
You will be joining a relatively small team within a larger organisation, so strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to collaborate effectively and be a productive team player. They’re in modern offices, a short walk from Reading town centre and train station, with on site café, showers etc.
