On February 7th-10th 2012, the second edition of V6 World will take place in Paris, bringing together Service Providers, Vendors and Researchers to discuss the generalisation of IPv6 on a global scale and to road test IPv6 for themselves.
Cisco will be providing their switches and servers to deliver connectivity on the Paris site, whilst Colt will supply the underlying Internet IPv6 Access service.
For 24 hours in June 2011, IPv6 was successfully deployed in a much choreographed event called ‘World IPv6 Day’. After much analysis of data from the event, the conclusion that it should be launched again was reached – only this time it would stay on. World IPv6 Launch commences on June 6th 2012 and will see IPv6 rolled out indefinitely.
