Networking giant Huawei has confirmed plans for a £125m research and development base in the UK, during Gordon Osborne’s recent visit to China. They are already China’s largest investor in the UK.

Huawei employs a staggering 150,000 people worldwide, including 40,000 at their Shenzhen HQ and 890 across the UK, mostly at their existing photonics R&D centre in Ipswich and their UK HQ at Reading, which opened earlier this year (April).

The location of their new UK site has not yet been decided but it is expected to employ approx. 300 staff with Huawei planning to increase their overall UK headcount by over 600, to 1,500, by 2017. We are awaiting their job descriptions and look forward to helping them secure the very best UK talent!
