Small businesses increasingly using freelancers over permanent staff

According to the results of a GfK NOP survey undertaken last month, which polled 1,600 small UK businesses, 60% replied they would rather hire freelancers than permanent employees as they are more flexible, bringing key skills in only when needed, thus also reducing overall labour costs. This compares with just 11% who plan to increase their capacity by recruiting permanent staff.
