Senior Planning Consultant Lead

ROLE: Senior Project Planner / Consultant
LOCATION: Johannesburg, South Africa
RATE: £500 – £600 per day + expenses
DURATION: 2 months initially, with possible extension to Dec 2015 and beyond

This project consultancy has a track record of providing project management, project planning, contractual advice and expert services for major civil engineering / construction projects of significance and magnitude to the international community. They are now looking for a Senior Project Planner / Consultant to join their team in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Desired Experience:
It’s expected that you have expert depth of experience and knowledge on Primavera P6, and ideally, experience of delay claims and forensic planning. You’ll no doubt be an experienced planner, but you should also have the gravitas and credibility to challenge, educate and consult with the client. Projects of this size are always exciting, but equally, they don’t come without their challenges – and this is no different.

Desired Skills:
Demonstrable experience in Project Planning and Controls, including expert knowledge & experience of Primavera P6
Previous consulting experience
Team mentorship & management
Prior experience working on major projects – international experience is preferred
Experience of compiling the programme narrative to commercial requirements
A track record of extensive client and stakeholder management, inc. reviewing programmes for client approval, and ability to discuss and resolve related issues with the business
Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills
An ability to embrace and encourage change when and where required
