Siemens’ brilliant new Remote Working Policy

In just a few short sentences Siemens’ new CEO, Roland Busch, sums up their new values and intent, in a high impact message which goes way beyond permanently offering 2-3 days/week remote working for their 380K global employees.

Their recent Press Release focuses on outcomes, rather than time spent in an office. Seems obvious right, but how many years have we been paying staff for the time they sit at a desk whilst the Employer only get paid for work output?

Critical though to the adoption and future success of this policy is the substance that evidently sits behind these PR words, highlighting how they will empower and trust their employees, providing all the resources and support they need to be successful.

Looks like the new era of remote working is here to stay, hopefully benefiting both employer and worker, if applied well!..
