New CEO announced at Juniper Networks
Juniper Networks has now announced their new CEO, Shaygan Kheradpir, who is succeeding Kevin Johnson who has held this post since Sept ‘08.
Until recently Mr Kheradpir was Group CTO & COO at Barclays and he previously spent 10 yrs as CIO & CTO at Verizon Communications. He is qualified with a BS, MS and PhD and started his career with GTE labs where he led their software team working on network routing, management and control solutions. At Verizon’s he led the development of FiOS (their bundled internet, telephone and TV service which now enjoys 35% share of this $12b growing market) and was instrumental in their truly high speed data and carrier grade VoIP. It is widely anticipated therefore that he will continue Juniper’s current focus on Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualisation (NFV), allowing clients to replace complex elements of server switches with software, although they are against the likes of Cisco, Oracle & Microsoft in this colossal battle.
In a statement Mr Kheradpir said, “I am honoured to lead this visionary organisation and look forward to working with this group of dedicated and talented professionals to drive the next phase of the company’s growth.”
Last month Juniper announced Q3 revenues were up by 6% to $1.18 billion (£736m) from the same period in 2012 and earned $99 million (£62m) and have forecasted revenues of approx. $1.2 billion (£749m) for the current Q4.
