The Company

This fast-paced, early stage software company are revolutionising how insurers engage with their global customers, in the same way banking transformed, with ML, AI and mobile apps.


This is a founder led company, with an impressive exec team who have successfully built, scaled and sold multiple software businesses. You will reporting to the CTO (a highly regarded software veteran, who still codes) and will be joining a small but very experienced team of Backend Developers/Architects/DevOps and Mobile Developers.

The Product

They have a modular, end-to-end, SaaS platform based around a core AWS / Python / Django / PostgreSQL and smartphone app stack, which is already operational across Europe, the USA and Asia. This includes a central data storage & analysis hub with API access, a white-label app using photo-recognition and telematics to manage Usage Based Insurance (UBI) and Pay How You Drive (PHYD) motor policies, along with support for home, travel and pet insurance.

Requirements

They are now looking for two additional Senior Software Engineers, with at least 5 yrs of experience, including some systems architecture skills, to further develop their core systems, whilst also helping support their live operational platforms across the globe.

You will need to be highly proficient developing Python code, using Django and Rest frameworks, within a Linux environment, with some AWS experience. Experience in some of the following would also be preferable:

  • PostgreSQL or MySQL
  • AI/ML
  • iOS and Android app development – Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, Java
  • Vue, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Development and administration experience on Linux
  • HTTP Verbs and transactions, authentication and security for web applications and frameworks
  • DevOps
  • NGINX, uWSGI, Gunicorn
  • CI and CD methodologies using tools such as Jenkins or similar
  • GIT
  • Agile, SCRUM
