Planning Manager – Highways/Roads

Role: Planning Manager (Highways/Roads)

This world class project delivery and infrastructure / construction consultancy deliver some of the most high profile global projects. Continued expansion means that they are now looking for a Planning Manager to form an integral part of their Roadworks projects team.

We are looking for someone to head up a growing team of 5 Planners. You will be responsible for planning 5 of their roadworks projects across various sites, each of which will be between £1m to £50m in value, working to the NEC3’s Option C. You will be standardising the processes for managing programmes; helping with the development and implementation of training for planners; introducing the use of 4D planning; managing the tender resource for this part of the business and improving the use of ‘Last Planner’ on the projects. Additionally you will be required to have good working knowledge of change management and target cost contract, as well as good software capabilities, as you will be helping senior Planners with technical issues.

The right individual will have expert knowledge and experience of Oracle’s Primavera P6 planning tool, along with strong client facing skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to provide structured, well-crafted reports to the key managers and stakeholders. You will also have a thorough knowledge of earned value management and reporting, and be able to mentor other planning team members where required.
