Location: Hybrid remote/office working, commutable to Surrey/Sussex border
Start/Duration: Starting asap, for an initial 6-month contract
This highly successful software and solutions company has doubled in size over the past 12-18 months, as a result of continued organic growth and several acquisitions, and now has 1,200 staff in 15 global offices.
The IT Infrastructure Engineer is a key role in maintaining the integrity and availability of the Group’s systems and services, and in supporting their continued growth through acquisition and integration.
What you will be doing:
- Daily management and monitoring of the Group’s global IT infrastructure, ensuring maximum availability
- Server administration, scheduled patching, support and monitoring in both physical (Microsoft) and virtual (VMware) environments
- Support and management of the data storage infrastructure
- Network management and troubleshooting, ensuring efficient and resilient data transfer and routing (HP, Cisco, SonicWall, QNAP)
- Manage and support the MS Active Directory Domain
- Work closely with the SysAdmin’s to maintain and strengthen global policies, maintain keys, and all licensing / subscriptions
- Management of the Microsoft 365 and Exchange hybrid infrastructure
- Ensure data security, continuity and integrity utilising various strategies and technologies (snapshots, replication, backup and archiving)
- Work with vendors and service providers
- Provide support and coaching to other members of the IT team
The skills you will need:
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience as an Infrastructure Engineer with relevant technical certifications (Microsoft, VMware, CCNA)
- Cloud Architect experience 2yrs minimum
- Certifications in Azure and or AWS cloud architect (Desired)
- Extensive experience in the installation, configuration, support and maintenance of Microsoft server software and of virtualised environments (VMware)
- Strong understanding of networking technology (including VPN and Internet technologies and large scale replicating SANs)
- Experience of migrating from on-premise to multi-cloud and managing cloud technologies (Microsoft365, Azure and AWS)
- Experience with application and operating system hardening, vulnerability assessments, security audits, penetration testing, intrusion prevention systems and other security control systems (PAM, SIEM, IDR)
- Excellent knowledge of End User computing environments including deployment, patching and automated provisioning and management
- Working knowledge of a range of diagnostic and remote support utilities
- Experience working in a global environment covering multiple regions and time zones
- Responsible for planning own workload and working with autonomy, typically against a backdrop of changing priorities and/or external events
- MS Office Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
- Hands-on with a positive “can-do” attitude
