Contractor Travel and Subsistence Expenses – Tax Review

Following the Office of Tax Simplification’s (OTS) ‘Review of employee benefits and expenses: second report’, the government has just launched the first part of their review, which runs from July – Oct ’14, to better understand the commercial realities of travel and subsistence payments to our current workforce, taking particular account of the increased number of temporary workers, so that they can then draft a framework for the new rules, hopefully for inclusion in the Autumn Statement. The second stage of the consultation is likely to run until spring 2015, as I’m sure you will be a heated debate!
