Job Title: Interim Global Chief Operations Officer

Location: London (4 days/week WFH; 1 day/week in London office)
Contract Duration: 6-months

Interim Operations Leader / Consultant required for a $200m data analytics, research and advisory practice who are preparing for ambitious global growth.

Reporting to the CEO and the parent group’s COO you will be working with a Big4 consultancy partner to define a blueprint for future operations, inc. redesigning their ops organisation and planning/delivering a series of transformation initiatives (automating processes, digitizing product delivery etc) to improve efficiency and position them ready for substantial growth.

Our client delivers critical data and analysis to organisations in both the private and public sectors, from offices across all continents. Applying advanced marketing science, data analytics and social research they support and advise organisations on service delivery and the effectiveness of their programmes, through capability building, service design, integrated comms campaigns and digital service delivery, all of which drive huge societal change worldwide. They are part of a larger group of companies who provide supplementary resources as needed, so you will also be working closely with their Group COO (ensuring alignment with, and effective integration to, the wider groups various transformation programmes) and Group CTO (to integrate their technology roadmap).

Mandatory Skills / Experience:

  • A confident and accomplished global operations strategist, experienced at COO / VP / Director / Global ‘Head of’ level and with the requisite gravitas and experience to be instantly credible at exec level of a multi-£bn group.
  • An expert in operational effectiveness.
  • Experienced in designing / structuring globally dispersed operations organisations (ideally 500+ FTE).
  • Significant experience within data-centric organisations, with a thorough knowledge of data privacy and security, particularly when the results are under intense scrutiny.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills. Effective influencing at all levels and successfully driving change in highly matrixed, global organisations.
  • Technically proficient, with a thorough understanding of the technologies available to drive operational efficiency.
  • A conceptual thinker.

Desirable Skills / Experience:

  • Experience leading and improving large, globally dispersed operations teams.
  • Experience working with/for central governments, ideally internationally.
  • Strong academic background.
