Vodafone sells Verizon stake for $130bn

Vodafone has sold its 45% stake in Verizon Wireless to US telecoms group Verizon Communications in one of the biggest deals in corporate history. UK Top 100 Construction Contractors (Aug ’12 – July ’13)

An interesting read… Over the past 12 months: Laing O’Rourke top the tables for Civils contracts won (£1,239m), Kier is top for Buildings contracts (£1,274m), and Balfour Beatty comes in at #1 across the board winning £1,633m of contracts over the past year. Staff placements increase at highest rate for over 2 yrs and Contractor revenue is up also

According to the REC/KPMG Report on Jobs for June the growth of permanent staff placements accelerated markedly, reaching the fastest rate for over two years. Similarly, temporary/contract staff billings rose at a much sharper pace, with the latest increase the strongest in seven months, with contract assignments being filled more quickly earlier on the year.

Quarterly Recruitment Review


Evanbase have released their latest Quarterly Recruitment Review publication, which is available to read online. Interestingly, it shows the mix of vacancies has had a sharp change with temporary and contract roles now accounting for 58% of all advertised roles, up from 35%.
